Run/Walk Timer Temptation

I actually opened the Amazon App today because I realized I need a run/walk timer for a road race tomorrow. I figured it would be under $20.00 so what could it hurt? Sure enough, found the run/walk timer and sure enough, it could be delivered today. But then I started thinking…I have a run/walk timer stored away somewhere, it just has a dead battery.

So I didn’t hit buy. I thought I’d go look for the old timer and then bring it to my local hardware store for a new battery. Great. I felt good about this but still was thinking that I could order Amazon if I couldn’t get the right battery. Then I had the next thought: maybe a local running store would have it in stock, so I took a look. Didn’t find anything but just as I was thinking I could make some phone calls I realized that there most certainly would be an app for this by now, right? Right.

Isn’t it funny? It’s all just habit adjusting, isn’t it?

So Amazon temptation squashed and I get to support a runner I’ve met and look up to. Whew!
