Trying to do Better.

Welcome to my blog. Welcome to Telesilla.

Everywhere is Just Somewhere

Roaming the world just proves over and over that some things about you just won’t change. These are the things I’m obsessed with no matter where I am in the world.

Reluctant Runner

I hate running but I love crossing a finish line. I’ve completed a dozen marathons and am training for two marathons in 2025. If I can finish a marathon, trust me, so can you.

Conscious Consuming

This is the year I quit Amazon. No, really. I’m going to slow down my consumerism & be conscious of who I’m supporting with my purchases. Plus, I hope to save a little money!

Books!

I love a good book and I love tracking what I read maybe just as much. I also am obsessed with connections between books. Join me in making 2025 a great reading year.

Obsessions

Find all of my rotating obsessions all in one place. I tend to hyper fixate, so let’s all enjoy those lessons learned. From liquor to songs to KDramas, here are my obsessions.

This Week’s Obsession

This one is very, very specific. Tia Maria. It’s a liquor much like Kahlua that probably had its heyday in the 70s but that’s something I’m about to learn. It’s oddly very hard to find in San Diego and easier in the Midwest.

    Products I Need to Replace

This is so overwhelming. But baby steps, right? First up, I need to replace my laundry detergent. I’ve used Method Ginger Mango for years now and I love the scent. Not overwhelming, slightly sweet. Fresh. Alas, Method Products rate 86% in republican contributions. If you’ve stumbled on this post and…

    Road to Big Sur

I had my first blog around the time I ran Big Sur the first time. It was simple and fun and took off in ways I didn’t expect. It became overwhelming and I abandoned it completely. Lately I’ve been wishing I kept it going and all these lessons I’m learning…

    Beginnings are Always Hard

Do you know what the hardest thing is about this right now? It’s that I can see exactly what I want in my mind and I’m struggling to get the page to reflect that. It’s silly but that’s my resistance right now–I don’t want to log in and see the…

    The Final Amazon

Well. I’ve made my last Amazon order. If you want an amazingly thorough look at why the globalisation of consumerism enabled by Amazon will see its end, dive into The End of the World is Just the Beginning by Peter Zelhan. But none of that has to do with why…

    Farewell, Starlite!

I’m obsessed. This song is on repeat right now. Out in 2016 but I missed it then. Dark and yet somehow maybe a little hopeful? It’s 100% my current vibe. It’s in the same neighbourhood as Glassio for me. When Francis and the Lights put out the album Farewell, Starlite!…

    Introducing Linus

As we get going here, I might as well introduce the main players. I’ll do reverse order. This is Linus. He is 6 months old and at the moment I’m concerned by fast breathing because I left him unattended for the 40 minutes I spent trying to figure out how…

    Hello world!

Oh thank God. This one is for posterity-I think it took me close to 40 minutes to figure out how to edit this first post. This isn’t my first blog, probably my fourth or fifth (I haven’t been counting) and I don’t even think it’s my first blog on WordPress,…
